In the Pits with SIMA's 2019 Most Improved Sr. Driver

Every year at the end of the SIMA race season fellow racers come together and vote for our coveted perpetual awards. We want to give each recipient an opportunity to say a little bit more about what it meant to them to receive the award, and to offer words of wisdom to fellow karters.

Congratulations to Cole O'connor - 2019 Most Improved Sr. Driver

Q: How did it make you feel to win the Most Improved Sr. Driver award?

A: I thought it was pretty cool to win and I was not expecting it at all.

Q: What do you fell was your biggest improvement in your karting this season?

A: My biggest improvement this year would be my driving. At the start of the year I was running at the back in shifter. Now at the end I am able to keep up with the front runners and have a chance.

Q: What areas would you like to continue improving upon?

A: The biggest area I need to improve on is making the kart work if the setup is off and being able to change my driving style based on what the kart is handling like.

Q: What was the biggest highlight of your racing this year?

A: My biggest highlight would definitely be being able to go to Vegas and doing pretty good while there.

Q: What are your plans for next season?

A: My plans for next year are to go to more big races and to continue to grow as a driver.
